Mrs. Karen Huzar has proudly served students and families in Pinellas County Schools since 2001. She began her career at Largo Middle School in dropout prevention before transitioning into the science classroom the following year, where she developed a passion for engaging students in meaningful, hands-on learning.
 
In 2007, Mrs. Huzar stepped into school leadership as an Assistant Principal at Dunedin Highlands Middle School, where she also played a key role in opening the school’s gifted center. She continued her leadership journey in January 2014 at East Lake Middle School Academy of Engineering, where she opened the school and helped establish its innovative programs.
 
Before joining Carwise Middle School, Mrs. Huzar served at East Lake Middle, building on her commitment to student success and strong school communities. She is honored and excited to now serve as Principal of Carwise Middle School.
 
Outside of school, Mrs. Huzar is a proud mother of three and a former member of the United States Coast Guard. She is dedicated to fostering a safe, supportive, and high-achieving environment for all students.
